False Teacher Warning: John MacArthur

Regarding false teachers and the need to warn, see Matthew 7:15-20; Romans 16:17; Ephesians 5:20; Colossians 1:28; 1 John 4:1; 2 John 9-11.

In this short 2-minute video linked below, listen carefully to the question asked at the beginning which proves that water baptism is essential, because God plainly and repeatedly said so. Please read the rebuttal to MacArthur’s answer below after watching the video.

Please think objectively. Did MacArthur’s response really prove anything? He tried to explain away all those plain verses, to no avail.… Read more

10 Reasons Why Christians Do Not Attend Dances Like the Prom

1. Because the main purpose of the event is to do something God condemns—committing lasciviousness (indecent dress, touching, and/or body movements that stir up lust) (Gen. 39:12; Matt. 4:3-4; 5:28; Rom. 13:11-13; Gal. 5:19-21; Col. 3:17; 1 Thess. 5:21-22; 1 Tim. 2:9-10; 1 Pet. 2:11; 4:3-4).

2. Because we don’t want to support/embolden/encourage those who are sinning by our attendance (1 Cor. 10:23-33; Eph. 5:11-12; 1 Tim. 5:22; 1 Pet. 4:4; cf. 2 Cor. 6:14-18; 2 John 11).… Read more

Lawbreakers Will “Receive Damnation”

Here is an unpopular truth: God commands, “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors…For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men” (1 Peter 2:13-15).

Did you see the word “every”? This would include laws that some people consider trivial, such as wearing a seatbelt, obeying the speed limit, or obeying copyright laws.… Read more

10 Thoughts About God’s Providence

  1. Make sure you are faithful to God if you want His favor and greatest blessings. This involves repenting of all sins, doing what He commanded for forgiveness, living a life of obedience, and prioritizing spiritual things over material things every day (Prov. 28:9; Isa. 59:1, 2; Mt. 6:19-21; 33; 6:25-34; 7:21-27; 10:32-39; Lk. 9:23; Jn. 4:24; 9:31; Acts 2:36-42; 20:7; 22:16; Rom. 3:23; 6:3-6; 12:1, 2, 9-21; 2 Cor. 4:16-18; Eph. 1:3; Php. 2:12; Col. 3:1-4; Heb.

What’s In Store for the USA?

What does God have in store for the USA? I do not know, but I know what He does NOT have in store. Friends, the USA will not last forever. The USA is not the everlasting kingdom foretold in the Old Testament to begin in Jerusalem during the days of the Roman kings (Dan. 2; Isa. 2; Joel 2; Hag. 2). The USA is not the “holy nation” referred to in First Peter 2:9. It’s not the kingdom that will be delivered up to God when Jesus returns (1 Cor.… Read more

Mount Moriah and the Messiah

Around 2000 B.C., God told Abraham to offer his “only son” Isaac on a mountain in Moriah (Gen. 22:2). Abraham was stopped before he offered his son, but in many ways, this was a foreshadowing of God giving His only Son to save man. About 1000 years later, God told David to build an altar and make sacrifices there, and Solomon would also build the temple in that same location! “Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah…” (2 Chr.… Read more

Nobody Will “Smooth Talk” His Way Into Heaven

Some people seem to think they can smooth talk their way out of any situation. They take pride in their ability to weave words in such a way that allows them to “get away” with whatever they have done or may want to do. Surely some of their confidence comes from a prideful assumption that they are smarter or craftier than the individual to whom they are speaking. Sometimes that may be the case, but true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord (Psa.… Read more

Cornelius Does Not Help “Faith Only” Advocates

The account of Cornelius’ conversion in Acts 10 does not support the false doctrine of “faith only salvation.” If one actually reads the entire book of Acts, by the time he gets to chapter 10 he has already read of thousands of people who were required to be baptized in water for their sins to be forgiven. In Acts 10 and subsequent chapters the reader will find even more people who were required to do the same.… Read more
